The General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Kumuyi, has described utterances that Nigeria will divide in 2015 as mere pronouncements, insisting that the country will remain as one.

Speaking during a media briefing for the commencement of the Deeper Life Bible Church three-day crusade at Eiyenkorin in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital on Tuesday, kumuyi urged Nigerians to come together and elect people who will do the will of the majority while those who eventually get elected must understand that they come into office for the good of the people and live it.

“We should look at the manifesto of politicians and pick the ones that will deliver, and help the people. We should not pick simply because of religion or ethnic considerations. We must join hands and put people in positions, where they will do the will of the people. If we vote for the right people, this country will be great and our politicians must always remember that they are in office for the people,” he said.

He further stated that: “God has a purpose for Nigeria and when people talk of division, the truth is that once you start the process, it never ends. Once you say, people in the north go your way and those in the south go your way, there are other people, who will also rise up to say they too want to go their way, even within you.”

“You know what happened in the 60s; several sides will begin to ask to go away but I know that God has a purpose for bringing Nigeria together and we shall remain one. Sometimes people misunderstood the power of prophecy and there are people who will say negative pronouncements. Pronouncements are not necessarily prophecies.”
