The Defence Headquarters has said that the Nigerian army regained control over the recently captured Gombi, Pelia and Hong from the Boko Haram insurgents in Adamawa state.

The report was obtained from the official twitter handle of DEFENCE HQ NIGERIA, @DefenceInfoNG.

It would be recalled that the Adamawa towns were reportedly captured last week as Boko Haram insurgents launched another set of attack in an attempt to seize more territories in the North-East.

Gombi residents narrated after the raid that the terrorists were patrolling the streets and firing heavy weaponry.

However today, November 19, the Nigerian Defence Headquarters took to its Twitter account to announce that the military managed to reclaim the 3 towns.

The tweet reads: ‘’Our Troops are in full control of Gombi, Pelia and Hong as operations to clear all areas infested by terrorists continue. Many terrorists are being captured as some die. Weapons and Equipment are also being recovered. Mopping up Ongoing in the area even now.’’
