Two days after the birth of their son, Meghan and Prince Harry, have introduced him to the world through a photo call at their home in Windsor, Frogmore Cottage, on Wednesday, May 8, 2019. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex thereafter, via their official Instagram account,  announced the royal babys name to be Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsorending- ending several days of feverish speculation about the royal baby’s name.

According to Vanity Fair, due to rain in Windsor, the couple walked through St. George’s Hall where their wedding reception was held last year, and the first photos of the royal baby were taken by a small team of journalists. They did not reveal the baby’s name.

“I have the two best guys in the world, so I’m really happy,” Meghan, who wore a white tuxedo dress by Grace Wales Bonner and Manolo Blahnik heels for the occasion said when interviewed by Journalists. “He has the sweetest temperament. He’s really calm.”

When a reporter asked which family member their newborn takes after, Meghan said, “We’re still trying to figure that out.”

“Everyone says that babies change so much in the first two weeks, and we’ll be watching to see how this changing process happens, over the next month really,” Harry said. “His looks are changing every single day, so who knows.” He joked around a bit as he held his son. “He’s already got a bit of facial hair as well, wonderful!”

It was pointed out by Emily Andrews of The Sun that the couple carried on another royal tradition during the photo call. The baby was wrapped in a merino wool blanket from G.H. Hurt & Son, which featured a leaves and flowers pattern. ”William & Kate also chose shawls from the same company to present George, Charlotte & Louis to the world!” she tweeted.

Meghan and Harry said that the planned to introduce the baby to the Queen and Prince Philip after the photo call. ”It’ll be a nice moment to introduce the baby to more family, and my mom’s with us as well,” Meghan added.

The baby was born at 5:26 A.M. on Monday, weighing 7 pounds, 3 ounces, though the news of the birth.

A slight delay in revealing the baby and his name is not unusual. Vanity Fair reports that last year, Kate and William waited four days to announce the name of Prince Louis. More than previous royal births, the oddsmakers were all over the map when it comes to the baby’s name. Early guesses were Spencer, James, and Alexander, but just last week, when it was unclear whether they would have a boy or girl, the money was on Diana, Grace, and, most surprisingly, Allegra.
