It was a celebrity wedding so we are sure you’d expect it to cost a fortune. It was a weekend-long bash which ended in Kim Kardashian finally marrying rapper Kanye West.
They exchanged vows in front of approximately 200 guests during an outdoor sunset ceremony at the Forte di Belvedere in Florence, Italy.
No expense was spared by the super-couple who boast a fortune with enough zeros at the end to confuse most mathematicians.
From lavish gowns to walls of fresh flowers to a private fleet of cars and tours of Versailles, it was the most lavish wedding in showbiz history.
But how much did it all actually cost? Here is a break down price estimates of the multi-million dollar ceremony according to mirror.co.uk:
The 200 guests spent the first night in a luxury Parisian hotel. They stayed at Hôtel George V, a swanky five-star hotel offering rooms from £420 a night. When the attendees moved on to Florence, they were put up in either Four Season or St. Regis; both offered a bed for the night at a cool £650. The Kardashian family is believed to have stayed in posh Villa San Michele in the beautiful Italian town, which costs upwards of £1,000 a night.
Entertainment and bits: £1,025,000
The selected guests were treated to a posh dinner at Hotel Costes, home of one of Paris’ best restaurants. It can sting the wallet at more than £120 per head, so a dinner for Kim and her girls would be a few grand at least. Although that’s much less than the fee paid to Lana Del Rey to perform, apparently she raked in a sneaky million quid. Plus everyone enjoyed a guided tour of Versailles.
Aside from the private jets between Paris and the actual wedding in Florence, they hired roughly 50 cars and vans to shuttle guests around. The private vehicles alone cost more than £45,000 – but it’s impossible to predict how much the private air travel cost.
Style and fashion: £40,000
Kim had a last-minute dress fitting with Givenchy but details of the cost of her dress are yet to be leaked. However it claimed guests were given their full make-over by high-end style Allison Depreistre who charges more than £250 per person. That’s more than £40,000 for a bit of slap for all of Kimye’s invites.
The 16th century fortress in Florence was the chosen destination for Kimye to exchange vows. It’s estimated 200 guests watched on in the sunshine as the super-couple finally tied the knot. The venue which offers views of the ancient city costs a basic £260,000 to hire apparently, and that’s not including the upgrades to lighting or construction.
They didn’t hold back when it came to a floral display – as the couple said their “I do’s” in front of a giant fresh flower wall. As well as the over-the-top display, they picked some of the rarest flowers you can find this time of year. No expenses spared.
Wedding dress: £300,000
Only the best designer dresses and suits were hand-picked for the ceremony. The couple had a custom Givenchy Couture gown designed by Riccardo Tisci for Kim’s dress which is estimated to have cost around half a million dollars.
