The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Monday night played out a goalless draw with the Lions of Iran in the second match of Group F. The Eagles knew there was no room for error and acted accordingly from the blast of the whistle.
They took the game to Iran in the opening minutes during which Muhammed Musa got the ball in the net but it was disallowed for an infringement on the Iran goalkeeper.
As the game went on, the Iranians began to get settled and eventually got a grip on the game. Reza forced the save of the match from Enyeama through a well controlled header. Waves of attacks from both teams resulted to nothing as the half ended goalless.
The Eagles struggled to create chances in the second half as the Iranians became dangerous on the counter attack. Both teams attacked for most of the second half but could not create clear chances as both held on for the first draw of the tournament.
