The election would hold in two wards: Agbado/Oyo ward 4 in Ikere Local Government and Igede Ward 3 in Irepodun / Ifelodun Local Government. There are 177 wards in the state.
According to a notice of Bye-Election sighted by our correspondent, the election is pursuant to Schedule 4 Section 1 sub section 1 of Ekiti State Independent Electoral Commission Law 2011.
In the notice signed by the Chairman of EKSIEC, Justice Kayode Bamisile (retd.), all registered political parties were asked to collect Form EKSIEC 001 on behalf of their candidates at the Headquarters of the commission in Ado Ekiti.
The commission said by the issuance of the notice, ward congresses to select councillorship candidates by political parties would hold on Monday.
Political parties are also to collect Forms EKSIEC 001 from SIEC for checking of particulars of their candidates on Tuesday, while checking /verification of particulars of candidates would take place on Wednesday.
Thursday would be for the collection of nomination form EKSIEC 4G by candidates qualified to contest and also for submission of lists of qualified and unqualified candidates in Forms EKSCF 003 and EKSCF 004 respectively by SIEC to political parties.
Replacement of unqualified candidates (if any) by political parties would be on Friday while next week Monday would be for the submission of nomination forms by candidates
The commission said it would publish Electoral Officers of persons nominated and issue Notice of Polls next week Tuesday.
EKSIEC said candidates could file their notice of withdrawal of nomination on April 5 while it would give Notice of Appointment of Polling Agents by candidates to Electoral Officers the next day.
The notice added that political parties were expected to end their electioneering campaign on April 7 while election would hold on April 8.
