Enyeama Nominated As France’s Best Goalkeeper

up0406212-Vincent-EnyeamaSuper Eagles and Lille of France safe hands, Vincent Enyeama, has been nominated for the best goalkeeper award in the French Ligue 1.

The Professional Union of French Players (UNFP) who runs the awards announced yesterday that the former Enyimba of Aba goalkeeper who has kept clean sheets in 21 out of 35 matches for Lille is in the running alongside Olympique Marseille’s Steve Mandanda, Salvatore Sirigu of league leaders, Paris Saint Germain and Stephane Ruffier of Saint-Ettiene.
The winners of the various categories will be announced at a ceremony to hold on May 11, just a week before the French Championships winds up. Enyeama’s Lille is currently third on the log.

He has also played 3,150 minutes of first-team football this season, conceding only 21 goals in 35 games — the second best in Ligue 1 behind Salvatore Sirigu of Paris Saint Germain.
Enyeama was also ever present in goal as Nigeria qualified for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
