Russian President, Vladimir Putin, has announced a ceasefire deal in Eastern Ukraine.
The deal which was reached at an ongoing meeting in Minsk, Belarus capital is set to take effect from February 15.
“We have managed to agree on the main issues,” he said following marathon talks involving Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, as well German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and France President Francois Hollande.
President Francois Hollande said it was a “serious deal” but not everything had been agreed.
Thousands of people have been killed in the fighting in the east of Ukraine.
The meeting – which began on Wednesday – focused on securing a ceasefire, withdrawal of heavy weapons and creating a demilitarised zone in Eastern Ukraine.
