Forbes today released its list of the 100 Most Powerful Women in the World. And Nigeria makes spot on the list.

Nigeria’s Minister for Finance Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is the most powerful woman in Nigeria. The 59-year-old is ranked 44 on the list of 100 people.

The other Nigerian on the list is 63-year-old Folorunsho Alakija who is said to have a net worth of $3billion. Source of her wealth is majorly from oil. She is ranked 96.

Taking the number one slot is Angela Merkel of Germany.  First lady of United States Michelle Obama is number 8, Queen Elizabeth at 35.

From Africa, Joyce Banda of Malawi is at 40, while Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf of Liberia is ranked 70.
