Samsung-Galaxy-S6

According to http://www.valuewalk.com/2014/10/galaxy-s6-what-to-expect/, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. Galaxy S5 received mixed response from consumers as well as critics. The latest flagship Galaxy Note 4 boasts of impressive features such as faster-charging technology, UV sensor and an improved S Pen Stylus. Unfortunately, the phone is facing stiff competition from Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s big screen iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. After shattering all sales records, the new iPhones have received over 20 million pre-orders in China in less than four days.

Galaxy S6 expected to release in March 2015

The launch of new iPhones with large screens fueled speculations that Samsung could bring the Galaxy S6 sooner than expected. Rumors of the next flagship gained further momentum after Samsung reported 60% decline in its third-quarter profits. So, the Galaxy S6 must be good enough to stand up against or beat the iPhone 6, and at the same time revive the Korean company’s crumbling fortunes.

The Korean electronics giant traditionally releases the new Galaxy S phones at the Mobile World Congress. So, we can expect Samsung to unveil the Galaxy S6 in early March as the next MWC being on March 2, 2015. Moreover, Samsung has historically increased the screen size of its flagship phone with each new model. The Galaxy S5 sports a 5.1-inch display. Reports suggest that the new phone will have a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display.

4K display a possibility with Galaxy S6

Samsung’s SVP for product strategy, Yoon Han-kil, said earlier this year that the company was working on a 4K display, which could feature in next year’s smartphones. So, there is a possibility of 4K display arriving with the Galaxy S6. In case the 4K technology isn’t fully developed in time for Galaxy S6, the device will sport 2K display, just like S5 and Note 4.

Samsung’s next flagship phone is expected to have 64-bit architecture. If that’s the case, the company will go for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808 or 810. The Snapdragon 810 supports 4K screen while six-core Snapdragon 808 supports 2K display. It will sport a more powerful Adreno 430 graphics processor. Google will soon launch the newest Android L, which will most likely be the operating system in Galaxy S6.

Galaxy S6 to have 3,300mAh battery

Coming to design, the Galaxy S6 will finally shed the plastic design in favor of a metal chassis. The Korean company’s two recent high-end phones, Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Alpha have a metallic frame. Samsung executives have said in the past that future high-end smartphones will feature “a new form factor.” So, we can easily assume that the Galaxy S6 will arrive with a metal chassis.

Users expect the Galaxy S6 camera to be at least 20-megapixel with optical image stabilization. According to LoadTheGame, the device will sport an 8- or 13-megapixel front-facing camera as the selfie trend has become widespread in the past few months. Other expected features include dust-proofing, waterproofing, fingerprint sensor, UV sensor and multidirectional microphones. Galaxy S6 is rumored to feature 3,300mAh battery.
