The German machine this evening crushed Cristiano Ronaldo led Portugal 4-0 in a group G match at the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Brazil. The German’s who won bronze in South Africa in 2010 started on a front foot and took the lead through Thomas Muller’s penalty in the 12th Minute.

The Germans in their typical fashion kept surging forward despite taking the lead and soon extended their lead in the 32nd minute when Matt Hummels headed in from Toni Kroos’ corner. Things turned from bad to worse for the Portuguese when the ever volatile Pepe was sent off after a silly off-the-ball incident with Muller. Germany ensured the game was over in the first half as Muller was on hand again to slot home from Tony kroos’ cross to make it 3-0.

The golden booth winner at the 2010 edition crowned a miserable night for Portugal in the 78th minute with another penalty. Manuel Neuer ensured there won’t be any consolation for the Portuguese with a superb save from Ronaldo’s late free kick.
