Nigeria’s senior national team interim coach, Daniel Amokachi has described the outcome of his side’s 1-1 draw against South Africa in an international friendly as a fair result.
Bongani Zungu’s injury-time strike rescued a point for Bafana Bafana as he cancelled Ahmed Musa’s excellent strike in Sunday’s friendly against Nigeria at the Mbombela Stadium.
According to ‘the Bull’ as he is fondly called, his men were unlucky not to have won the game despite going a goal up with less than five minutes to the end of the encounter.
“It is fair, coming away from home after losing to Uganda. Ninety-eight percent of the players are having their first, second or third caps,” Amokachi during the post match conference.
“It is a fair result but when you are winning and one goal up, conceding is not good.”
Nigeria had bowed 1-0 to Uganda on Wednesday at the Akwa Ibom Stadium courtesy of Farouk Miya’s 81st minute strike.
