Omeruo Gets Middlesborough Loan Deal

Nigeria international defender, Kenneth Omeruo has been loaned out to English Championship side Middlesbrough till the end of the season by his parent club, Chelsea.

Omeruo who only recently was elevated to the Blues main squad by Jose Mourinho after loan spells at  Dutch Eredivisie side, ADO Den Haag was at the Riverside Stadium to finalise the details of the deal on Monday evening. Middlesbrough, who are15th on the 24-team English Championship first tried to get him in the summer of 2013 but failed.

The Nigeria star has a contract with Chelsea till June 2015 and wants to have some playing time under his belt so as to make the Super Eagles squad to the World Cup in Brazil in June.

‘Boro manager Aitor Karanka, who was an assistant to Jose Mourinho during his spell at Real Madrid, said they expect Omeruo to shore up their defence after he was personally recommended to him by Mourinho.
