Reactions trail General Muhammadu Buhari’s Presidential Victory

Reactions have begun to trail the presidential election victory of General Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress-APC.
Among the first to give their reactions, was Professor Emeka Anyaoku, former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth. Prof. Anyaoku commended President Jonathan for exemplifying true statesmanship as an incumbent, by conceding defeat.

According to Professor Anyaoku, said President Jonathan by so doing, had set a good example for the region and indeed, all of Africa.
The former scribe of the Commonwealth also praised Nigerians for their calmness, orderliness and patience, throughout the two-day election process and the two-days it has taken to announce results of the presidential election.
Victory for Nigerians
Echoing the views of Prof. Anyaoku, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, also commended President Jonathan’s magnanimity in conceding defeat.
Sultan Abubakar, who is also the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs in Nigeria  said the President’s call to General Buhari was heart-warming.
He said: “President Jonathan’s call to the president-elect reaffirms my belief that the out-going Nigerian president is a man who loves peace and treasures peaceful co-existence of all Nigerians.”
