The internet is NEVER going to get boring as it continuously dishes out new viral crazes that keeps people ‘busy’ and pumps up the excitement across social media platforms.

We have seen different kinds of ‘#challenges’ on the internet ranging from the #coldwaterchallenge, #plankingchallenge, #mannequinchallenge, #kikichallenge, the list is endless. The #fvckyouchallenge initiated by Kizz Daniel is the latest craze with many fans and celebrities such as Tiwa Savage, Simi, Vector the Viper, MI Abaga, Lil Kesh, Ghanian Sarkodie among others, participating.

On March 15, 2019, FLYBOY I.N.C. boss, Kizz Daniel released his latest single titled, Fvck you, which brought about the #fvckyouchallenge, and has allowed musically talented people to flood the social media with different covers of the song. This came after the release of another widely accepted single from Kizz titled ‘Magu’.  Fvck You was produced by YBNL ace Producer, Young John.

One interesting thing about this challenge is that, it has been an avenue for fans to call out anyone for their misdeeds, especially in relationships. This may be due to Kizz Daniel’s relatable lyrics of the original song which goes all the way to talk about how angry and hurt he is after discovering that his lover has been highly unfaithful.

The soaring success of the #fvckyouchallenge shows that Kizz Daniel knows his onions about his market; most of these audience have been on the receiving end of heartbreak, deceit and disrespect at some point in their lives. You can as well say he was throwing a double edged sword while at it because, amongst this set of audience, you are either the cheater or the cheated.

As the title implies, he used the ‘F’ word in the song like it’s no man’s business even though most Nigerian musicians steer away from it so as to not get their songs banned by the Nigerian Broadcasting Communications. This boldness alone, brought up comments on one of the covers of the song.

Nigerian musicians are doing the best they can to sell their songs and according to a report by PricewaterhouseCoopers, PwC, Nigeria, in 2018, they have made the media industry grow; the growth is said to be attributable to internet access.

Kizz Daniel, knowing how well to make use of this medium, has been able to generate huge sales as ‘Fvck You’ ranks number 1 on ‘Apple music top 100 most played songs’.

However, the song became the topic of a controversial argument as to who Kizz was targeting with the song. Then came the rumour that Kizz dedicated the song to his ex-girlfriend, Nigerian musician Chidinma Ekile. But the rumour became what it was, a RUMOUR, when Chidinma gave a new twist to the story by demanding an apology from Benny Ark, City FM, Lagos OAP who was the originator of the speculation.

Brilliantly, the #Fvckyouchallenge has grandly promoted the song globally; there has been a video of an Australian teenager, taking part in the challenge as well as covers from his fans around the world.

The fact that the song was massively welcomed by Kizz’s fellow celebrities, with numerous covers of the song by them on his Instagram page, is a very good tactic for music promotions.

No doubt, Kizz Daniel’s ‘Fvck You’ song and challenge is today, one of Nigeria’s greatest hit song covers and viral offering to have literally set Nigeria’s social media scene on fire. Other brand owners might do to take cue and come up with similar strategies to get their target audience talking about, experiencing and loving their brand.
