Vincent Enyeama Named Ligue 1 Player Of The Month

Nigerian international goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama has been named Player of the month of October in the French Ligue 1, following his spectacular performance for Lille OSC. The 31-year old, who joined the French club from Israel’s Hapoel Tel Aviv in 2011, was made first choice goalkeeper this season and has been in superb form, keeping a clean sheet of 657 minutes already.

The Nigerian goalie beat Paris Saint Germain stars Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edison Cavani to clinch the award for his outstanding performance in the premier division.

Enyeama raked in 71% of the votes far ahead of Ibrahimovic’s 19% and Cavani’s 10%.  He received the triophy for his award yesterday before his side’s clash with Toulouse.

Vincent Enyeama who has also been shortlisted for the Glo/CAF African footballer of the Year Award has conceded only two goals out of the 13 games played this season.
