Flamingoes Set To Fly Over Colombia

After an impressive 2-1 victory over hard-fighting China in their opening match, the national U-17 Women football team, the Flamingoes will tonight attempt to consolidate their position in Group D  when they take on Columbia.

Unlike the Nigerians, Columbia lost their opening match 4-0 to Mexico at the other match, The team of Nigeria celebrate after the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2014 group D match between China and Nigeria at Alejandro Morera Soto Scotiabank on March 16, 2014 in Alajuela, Costa Rica.

Flamingoes-300x224This will give the Flamingoes a psychological edge over the South Americans who will try and claw their way up from the bottom.

With strikers like Rasheedat Ajibade, Uchenna Kanu and the ever dependable goalkeeper Onyinyechukwu Okeke, the coach  Bala Nikyu lads will go for an outright victory to ensure they qualify for the next stage of the tournament.

The coach has charged the girls to put the China result behind them as they aim to better the performances of their predecessors in the tournament, The match comes up 3am.
